Summary:
The Dopamine (Research) ELISA is an enzyme immunoassay intended for the quantitative determination of dopamine in Biological Fluids and Tissue Homogenate using sample volumes between 1-100 ul, depending on sample type and expected concentrations. Dopamine acts as a neurotransmitter in the brain, and low levels are often associated with Parkinson`s Disease. Dopamine levels may also be increased with tumors of the chromaffine system. As a member of the catecholamine family, dopamine is a precursor to epinephrine and norepinephrine.
