The TXB2 ELISA kit is a colorimetric competitive enzyme immunoassay kit is for the quantitative determination of TXB2 in culture supernatants, plasma, serum, saliva, and urine from any species with results in < 3 hours. Absorbance is read at 405 nm. Detect COX I inhibition by measuring the production of downstream TXB2 in a convenient 96 well plate based assay. This kit is highly cited in peer-reviewed publications in a diverse assortment of sample types including mucosa, tissue, serum, plasma, urine, and much more. The TXB2 ELISA kit provides easy-to-use stable liquid color-coded reagents that reduce errors. Research Use Only. Not for Use in Diagnostic Procedures.

Thromboxane A2 (TXA2) is involved in platelet aggregation, vasoconstriction, and reproductive functions (3-5). However, TXA2 has a half-life of only 37 seconds under physiological conditions (5), and the production of TXA2 in vivo is typically monitored by measurement of TXB2 and 2,3-dinor TXB2. Thromboxane B2 (TXB2) is produced by the non-enzymatic hydration of TXA2, and has been shown to be stable (6,7). A number of pharmaceuticals alter and/or inhibit the synthesis of TXA2 (8-10) and methods to determine TXA2 in urine and blood typically involve gas chromatography/mass spectrometry11, radioimmunoassay, or enzyme-linked immunoassay. See instructions for use for references.
